Adult Entrance Exam Workshop

Posted on Nov 27, 2006

Murray, Ky., Nov. 20 — Educational Talent Search will offer a free Adult Entrance Exam Workshop the evenings of Nov. 27, 28 and Dec. 4 at the TRIO Building on the campus of Murray State University. Each session will last three hours beginning at 6 p.m. Participants should plan to attend all three sessions.

Workshop sessions are designed for non-traditional students who plan to enroll in the spring term at any postsecondary institution and need to take an entrance examination. Material is based on the ACT, but is appropriate for any entrance exam, including the COMPASS. On the first day, clients will learn basic test-taking skills and will take a practice ACT Assessment. During the other two meetings, they will review material from math, English, science, and reading.

Participants must be enrolled in ETS prior to the first workshop meeting. As part of that process, applicants receive assistance completing admissions and financial aid applications for their postsecondary institutions. For applicants who qualify, a limited number of fee waivers are available to cover the cost of admissions fees and testing. For more information, contact Educational Talent Search at 809-3168 (877-678-3387 outside Calloway County).

Educational Talent Search is a federal TRIO program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and hosted locally by Murray State University.
