FERPA sessions Nov. 17
Due to popular demand, two last FERPA sessions have been scheduled for this semester. These provide an opportunity for all campus employees (including students) to attend a brief session on privacy laws that affect our campus and protect our students and university.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is otherwise known as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment. All faculty and staff who have not already attended a session but who currently have or wish to receive electronic access to student information via the Advisor PIN or the CICS Info screens are required to attend a session on FERPA in order to keep or possibly gain access to MSU systems.
All staff and student workers who deal with student information in any format are strongly encouraged to attend.
The following sessions have been scheduled to meet in the classroom of the Center for Teaching and Learning Technology, 3rd Floor Applied Science North: Wednesday, November 15 @ 9:30 Wednesday, November 15 @ 2:30
There is no need to pre-register. Just sign in when you attend. I will start promptly at the designated times so that I can get you out quickly so please don't be late.
Repeat attendance is not required if you have been to a session in an earlier semester.
As always, if you have a question related to these privacy laws or other issues, please don't hesitate to call 809-3380 or send an email to registrar@murraystate.edu.
