TSM to stream Tent City
Murray, Ky., Oct. 10 — Murray State University’s Program of Distinction in Telecommunications Systems Management (TSM) will be hosting a unique type of tent at MSU Tent City this year. Spurred from the question that TSMers constantly get, “What is Telecommunications Systems Management?” a variety of companies and organizations that represent the TSM field will be featured at the TSM tent on Saturday. Each group will have information about their products and services, promotional giveaways and representatives to speak with guests.
Streamernet, one of the companies occupying the TSM tent, will be the first group to broadcast MSU homecoming events live on the Internet. Anyone who can’t attend MSU homecoming this year can still feel like part of the action by viewing Tent City, the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen and even the football game online at the Center for TSM homepage: www.murraystate.edu/tsm/ctsm. A link to open the live video feed will be located on the website. After the events end, the broadcast will remain on the website for viewers to tune in at their convenience.
The broadcast will include random tent activities and shots of live entertainment at Tent City, interviews with school leaders and guests of the TSM program, the crowing of Homecoming King and Queen and overhead shots of the stadium’s activities during the day.
The TSM tent will be located in the center of Tent City. Visitors can also watch the live broadcast there on monitors set up under the tent.
Other guests being hosted at the TSM tent include Verizon Wireless, Computer Services Inc., ConnectKentucky, Dev-Source, WWL Network Solutions, and Slingshot Wireless.
Started in 1999, the TSM program at Murray State is an interdisciplinary program between the College of Business and Public Affairs and the College of Science and Engineering Technology, offering its students a balanced education of business and communications technology.
